Current Happenings

November 2010

This had been another good month for contacting the Astronauts aboard the International Space Station (ISS). We have made more than five contacts to the Space Station  in the first two weeks of Novermber 2010.

October 2009
I just purchased and installed a GPSDO (GPS disciplined Oscillator) to add the ultimate stability and accuracy in the shack.

March 2009
I just finished building a 24 GHZ beacon station which transmits on 24,192.155 MHz!  It runs only 8Wm  and so far my DX record is 40 miles away.  We plan to move this to Nelson Peak which will raise the beacon from 5225' to about 9360'....an altitude gain of 4135'!!

It's been am amazing 31 years as a ham radio operator...

I am a Life Member of the American Radio Relay League (ARRL) and the Radio Amateur Satellite Corporation (AMSAT). I have been a ham radio operator for more than 31 years and was first licensed back in 1978 as WD0GEN in Minnesota. My current QTH is Salt Lake City, UT or DN40co. I pretty much work all bands and  really enjoy Microwave and Satellite communications (including the International Space Station).
